Yukong is the first four star character in Honkai Star Rail to possess the Imaginary element.
This fact alone gives her a high value for elemental coverage. However, beyond that, she’s also an effective and versatile support.
Being a four-star character, she’s easily obtainable through gacha pulls. So, if you need additional support, she’s worth considering.
Best Light Cones
While powerful, Yukong requires a somewhat specific setup to function effectively. Ideally, you want Yukong to have the highest Speed in your team, followed by your DPS characters.
The reason for this is to allow Yukong to get first turn in every fight, allowing DPS characters to capitalize on the buffs provided by Yukong elemental skill.
- Planetary Rendezvous: Upon battle entry, if an ally deals the same DMG Type as the wearer, DMG dealt increases by 12/15/18/21/24%.

This effect can be triggered after every 2 uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action (except the wearer) deals 30/35/40/45/50% more DMG for 1 turn(s).
- Memories of the Past: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 28/35/42/49/56%. When the wearer attacks, additionally regenerates 4/5/6/7/8 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.

- Dance! Dance! Dance!: When the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies’ actions are Advanced Forward by 16/18/20/22/24%.
Relic and Planar Ornaments
Yukong possesses an Ultimate that deals good chunk of damage damage. Coupled it with ATK increase from her skill and she can be good single target sub dps. It’s recommended to prioritize SPD before other stats to ensure she always got her turn first.
After have “enough” SPD, you can consider other stats like Energy Regen or ATK to increase her ultimate DMG output.
Taking that into account, your first choice of relic will be combination of 2 Wastelander of Banditry Desert from Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Conflagration in Stargazer Navalia, Xianzhou Luofu and 2 Musketeer of Wild Wheat.

Team for Yukong?
Yukong’s Skill provides an Attack buff (Roaring Bowstrings) to the two characters who take their turns after her.
Therefore, she should be played in a lineup with two DPS characters. One important consideration is that these two DPS characters shouldn’t have higher Speed than Yukong.
You have plenty of choices here, ranging from Dan Heng and Serval for free-to-play options, or pairing Seele with characters of the Hunt, Destruction, or Erudition types. The last slot can be filled with a healer.
You can also replace one of the DPS characters with a support or utility character. Just make sure that character can contribute to the damage output to take advantage of Yukong’s buff effect.
Playing Yukong is straightforward. Build her until she have the highest speed in your party so she can get first turn. use her skill, then continue with DPS. Use her Ultimate only when the buff effect she provides is still active to add extra punch.
